Sohoton, a cove situated at the southern part of Siargao, offers a different kind of traveling experience. On this trip, we were lucky enough to experience all that Sohoton is known for: Swimming with stingless jellyfish and inside caves with luminous green water, and as a thrilling finale, jumping off a cliff.
Because Sohoton is an enclosed area it can only be accessed during gibas or low tide and only has one way in and out. Once inside the cove, sharp limestone cliffs and wild plants will surround you.
Apart from the activities, much of what makes Sohoton interesting is its enchanting history—it was once believed to be the center of witchcraft and sorcery. Because of this belief it has been isolated for a lot of years, which I think, helped keep the cove pristine.
The experience at Sohoton was definitely one for the books: From swimming with the jellyfish to conquering my fear of heights, I surely won’t forget any of it
